Our Story

Our path into sustainable and off-grid living wasn’t something we grew up with — it was something we learned by doing.

In April of 2019, we moved from Georgia, where we had lived fully on-grid our entire lives, to a highly distressed off-grid property. The property had no power of any kind. It did have a well, a very distressed home, and an existing septic system that wasn’t connected. The house itself required a complete renovation.

Over time, we:

* Renovated the home from the ground up

* Connected and brought the septic system online

* Installed our first solar system Dug and installed water and power lines where needed

* Learned how to make off-grid systems work reliably in real conditions

That first project became the foundation for everything that followed.

While still working on that property, we purchased another off-grid property and renovated it as well. Since then, we have completed work on five of our own off-grid and rural properties across different parts of the state — each at very different elevations, climates, and landscapes. We have also helped others with their own projects and properties.

Every property presented unique challenges: different soil conditions, weather patterns, access issues, infrastructure limitations, and system requirements. Each one taught us new lessons — not just about systems, but about planning, sequencing, budgeting, and realistic expectations.

Through this process, we learned firsthand what works, what doesn’t, and where people often make costly mistakes. Those experiences are what shape our consulting today.

We now share that hard-earned knowledge to help others move toward sustainable, self-reliant living with clarity, confidence, and fewer surprises.
